Located on a 200-acre property in Northern Virginia, Shadow Creek Weddings & Events is a timeless wedding venue in the beautiful rolling hills of Loudoun County. The centerpiece here is the romantic reception barn with a soaring ceiling and ample windows to keep it light, airy, and elegant.

Where better to host a classy, modern wedding?

That’s what Jessica & Andrew set out to do at their September wedding, surrounded by the love of their family and friends. These two were supported by a fantastic team on their big day. Coordinator Marylee Marmer of Marylee Marmer Events kept everything running smoothly, while DJ Brian Doane managed the vibes at this Northern Virginia wedding. And to capture the memories, the husband-and-wife videography team of Grayter Memories and Mandy Lynn of Mermaid Lake Photography were on hand all day.

Andrew and Jessica took advantage of the beautiful views on the Shadow Creek property with an outdoor ceremony. From the patio beside the barn, the hills of Loudoun County became their backdrop.

For the wedding party’s entrance, the couple chose a cover of Make You Feel My Love by Let It Bloom, a UK-based finger-style guitar player. Then the flower boy and flower girl (flower children?) made their adorable way down the aisle to The Oogum Boogum Song by Brenton Wood. (If you think you’re not familiar, give it a listen. You’ve probably heard it but had no idea that’s what it was called!) Finally, Jessica made her grand entrance to Biblical by Calum Scott, a sweeping love song with a faithful slant.

After cocktail hour on the covered porch, the party could begin in earnest inside the beautiful barn. With a space this lovely, it doesn’t take much to make it pop. Andrew and Jessica kept the decor simple with white tablecloths, red linens, and simple centerpieces of deep red and soft pink roses.

But the wedding party introductions kicked things up a notch! The whole crew, including Andrew and Jessica, turned up to the Chicago Bulls Intro Theme (Sports Bar Version) by Playin’ Buzzed. DJ Brian used Maryland’s DJ uplighting to put on a colorful display worthy of a home game.

For their first dance, Andrew and Jessica chose Conversations in the Dark by John Legend. Next, Andrew (whose family is from South America) danced to Aqui Estoy Yo by Pimpinela. The title translates to “I Am Here” and is a famous song of love and support. Finally, Jessica danced with her dad with When God Made You My Father by Riley Roth. (Prediction: this song is going to be all over weddings in the next few years. It was practically written for father/daughter dances.)

Next, it was time to open the dance floor. To satisfy both the North American and South American contingents, Virginia DJ Brian blended American pop with Latin music like bachata, salsa, and merengue. It was a fun mix that kept the party going until the sparkler send-off!

DJ Brian—or any of our other talented DJs—would love to work with you on your special day. Fill out our online contact form to book your date and start planning!
