Love is not seasonal. And neither are weddings.

While we don’t DJ as many weddings in the winter as we do in spring, summer, and early fall, the ones we do have can be some of our favorites!

A winter wedding has a lot going for it. For starters, they’re usually easier to schedule. Venues, photographers, caterers, and even guests have fewer commitments in January or February than they will in June and July, giving you more dates to choose from and more undivided attention from your vendors. Plus, winter dates may be more affordable. Many venues have higher rates during prime wedding season, so you may be able to save some dough by booking in the winter.

Lovely couple Taylor and Tony chose to hold their January nuptials at Stone Tower Winery, one of our top Leesburg wedding venues. Perched on a hillside in Loudoun County in the heart of Virginia wine country, you can see the rolling hills for miles in every direction. While outdoor weddings here are stunning, it was January. So the ceremony took place in the warmth of the Tank Room. This spacious, double-height room is lined by massive stainless steel and oak barrels full of the newest vintage.

Taylor and Tony knew their ceremony and reception would be in good hands with Northern Virginia DJ Jordan Solender—after all, he DJ’d the groom’s brother’s wedding at Antrim 1844 just a couple years ago! We are always so grateful for personal recommendations from our past couples!

The parents and grandparents entered the venue first, accompanied by The Piano Guys’ cover of A Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay. Then the bridal party made their entrance to Love Story Meets Love Story, by Jon Schmidt. This unique cover of Taylor Swift’s Love Story brings a drive and energy to the song that you don’t always get in instrumental covers! It’s 6+ minutes long, but give it a listen—that build is epic!

For Taylor’s entrance, she chose Pachelbel’s Canon in D, performed by Brooklyn Duo. And when it was time to step out into the world as husband and wife, they did so to Best Day of My Life by American Authors.

For the ceremony, the party moved into the venue’s ballroom where they could enjoy those valley views from the full wall of windows. The bridal party, along with the bride and groom, had a hyped-up entrance to Bring Em Out by T.I. Then Taylor and Tony had their first dance to Joy of My Life by Chris Stapleton.

And then, as they say, the crowd went wild. This was a crew that danced the night away, no doubt fueled by some of that delicious Stone Tower wine.

We don’t usually pick a favorite photo, but we have to say…photographer Candice Adelle really knocked it out of the vineyard with this one. This quite, intimate moment between the bride and groom in an otherwise dark ballroom is just too good.

The night came to a close with a sparkler sendoff, a fitting end to a perfect day!
