If it weren’t for the face masks, Matthew and Allison’s sunny July wedding at Rosewood Farms would have felt like a pre-pandemic celebration.

It was our first time at this modern barn venue in Elkton, MD, but we’re already looking forward to going back. And it’s a good thing — we have 10 more weddings booked there over the next 10 months!

Rosewood was a winery and chicken farm when the Biddle family snapped it up in 2017. Now, it has a modern pastoral vibe, with chic barn spaces in cool, soothing colors and updated farmhouse decor. Complete with a pond and plenty of greenery, Rosewood Farms is equally suited to an elegant black-tie wedding or an indie bohemian fete.

Although most summer weddings opt for outdoor ceremonies, Matthew and Allison held theirs inside the stunning (and climate controlled!) Rustic Barn. A cool grey on the outside, the barn opens up to reveal a huge, bright space with whitewashed walls and vaulted ceilings. Tons of windows and two rows of matching chandeliers keep the room feeling light and airy.

Allison entered the ceremony to the classic Canon in D by Pachelbel, captured by the team at Right Start Photography. After the couple exchanged their vows, the party enjoyed happy hour on the patio outside, taking in the views. Then, everyone moved to the other barn on the property — The Rose Barn — for dinner and reception.

The Rose Barn is over 6,000 square feet of reception space. Painted a lovely blue-grey on the outside, the ballroom inside boasts an 8 foot chandelier and grand stone fireplace. Painted a crisp white with rustic beams on the 20 foot ceilings, this air-conditioned space let Allison and Matthew’s guests enjoy the night in comfort and style.

The bride and groom made their entrance to Can’t Stop the Feeling! by Justin Timberlake — a wedding favorite. For their first dance, Allison and Matthew chose From the Ground Up by Dan + Shay. It’s one of our top country wedding songs! Then, Allison and her father danced to Daddy’s Angel by T Carter, a wedding focused songwriter and producer.

After dinner, the dance floor opened up with tunes like:

While the party continued, the Right Start team snuck the couple away for some stunning photos in front of a fiery sunset.

After the last song — Closing Time by Semisonic — the happy couple said their goodbyes under a sparkler send-off.
