Baltimore is full of historic event venues, like the George Peabody Library and the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House. But for a little exclusivity, you can’t beat a private club.

The Maryland Club has been the social home of Baltimore’s upper crust since 1857. Inside the club’s current building built in 1892, members find room after handsome room of restaurants, lounges, squash courts, and of course, event space. After a 1995 restoration, it’s been returned to its original Romanesque glory, with classic architectural features.

For their Baltimore wedding, Brittany and Ben were fortunate enough to have an “in” at this lovely private club—a privilege not afforded to many! It was certainly our first time there, so  Baltimore wedding DJ Ryan was there in his formal best to make a good impression.

For the ceremony site, Brittany and Ben chose the covered porch on the second floor of the club, with the lovely historic buildings of the city as their backdrop. The parents and grandparents made their entrance to Make You Feel My Love by Adele. Then the wedding party entered to a sweet piano and violin piece called Butterfly Waltz off an album called Classical New Age Piano Music. We’d never heard this one before, but it’s beautiful!

For Brittany’s entrance, she chose Brent Morgan’s cover of Kiss the Girl from The Little Mermaid. It’s a fantastic, updated version of this childhood classic!

Look at these two. Are they not ridiculously good looking? The team from Once Like a Spark Photography sure didn’t have to work too hard to get fantastic pictures of this pair!

When all was over, the happy couple made their exit to You Are the Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne, all smiles!

After cocktail hour, the party moved into the Eager Street Lounge, the site of the wedding reception. Lined with handsome dark wood paneling and a host of mounted hunting trophies, it certainly lived up to the club’s “traditional” reputation. A 13-foot-tall taxidermy bear in one corner was a highlight of the evening…he even found a veil at some point.

The reception got off to a hopping start, with wedding party introductions to Sweet Lovin by Sigala, which was an instant energy boost. Then Brittany and Ben got their first intro as a married couple to TI’s Bring ‘Em Out.

For their first dance, the couple chose Just You and I (Acoustic) by Tom Walker. Brittany then danced with her grandfather to Can You Feel the Love Tonight (another Disney tune!) by Elton John, followed by Ben and his mom’s dance to Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

DJ Ryan reports that this crowd danced all night long! A major highlight was his 90s jock jam set, which brought big dance vibes to the party. They carried that energy through the very last song of the night—Time of Our Lives by Pitbull feat. Ne-Yo.

This Baltimore wedding was proof that exclusive doesn’t have to mean stuffy! This crowd had an amazing time and really let loose, and we were delighted to be part of it! Whether you’re getting married at the swankiest private club or the most laid-back countryside barn, we’re here for it. Contact us today to start planning!
